Meet Maggie Stagg

Dr. Maggie Stagg, Clinical Psychologist and Parent Coach

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, practicing in the Bay Area providing both in-person and virtual therapy. I offer therapeutic treatment for both individuals and couples, primarily addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, work stress, relational issues, family conflict, and life transitions. In addition I offer parent coaching to promote healthy connection and attachment with your child, while addressing behavioral issues that might be impeding the quality of the parent/child relationship.

I take a holistic approach to understanding your unique experiences, in order to help you create meaningful, lasting change. Our work together is a collaborative process—one where we uncover your strengths and build upon the tools you already possess to support your personal growth. My style as a therapist is active and engaged, offering thoughtful feedback and practical guidance to help you navigate challenges and make progress toward your goals. Together, we’ll create a path forward that feels both empowering and sustainable.

I received both my masters and doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. I am trained in multiple empirically validated modalities, including Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy for the Individuals (EFIT), Janina Fisher’s trauma model, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and more. I incorporate all elements from these models through an integrative approach, customizing treatment to align with your unique needs.

I believe having a strong connection between the therapist and client is a vital part of a successful therapy experience. Therefore, I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to answer any questions you have, and to determine if I would be a good fit for you. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story.
